1971 Honda CB450 Cafe Racer
The Honda CB450 Cafe Racer “Bonita Applebum” began life as a 1971 Honda CB450 bought by eBay, and believe it or not, was the bicycle in a small apartment built. After the purchase of all items from eBay needed Pepe Luque – began to clean, paint and spit polish each piece prior to installation on the frame – the guy who now has the bike.
Besides some minor fine tuning Luque worked on this project alone compensate, including the upsizing main jets for the air stream and out of the engine and replace the Pirelli tires for some Fire Stones. As for the exterior painting, it was inspired by a 1971 Honda CB450 Armadillo, while the handles and seat color was suggested by his roommate. Why is the fact that he built the whole thing by himself so remarkable? Well, Pepe Luque is color blind.
When explaining how he came to picking the colors and everything always just right for the bike to work, he said: “The main part, I was really hard wiring of the bike as you can imagine, not being color blind help. the colors of the wires. I was very happy that my girls and my brother’s wife helped with identification of wires. For example, yellow with a white track, I labeled FLB (front left turn signal) and so on. It took me by surprise that the wiring I nailed the start. ”
