2012 Mazda5 minivan Completely redesigned

Completely redesigned for 2012 and the latest Mazda5 is a development of the predecessor model. Highlights are a bit more power, more comfort and styling swoopier. At its core, but the 2012 Mazda5 is a mini-minivan for people with modest family transportation needs. With two seats in each of his three series there is only room for six people, compared to the seven or eight passenger seating configuration of a large minivan (that’s an oxymoron). But if opportunities to carry several passengers are few and far between, the Mazda 5 has a significant design (size, the emphasis here) practical advantage over compact crossover SUVs.

The 2012 Mazda5 is a three-row, six-passenger compact minivan in three trim levels: Sport, Touring and Grand Touring. The base Sport comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, full power accessories, keyless entry, cruise control, automatic climate control standard (with rear vents and fan control), a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and a six-speaker sound system with CD player and an auxiliary audio jack.

The 2012 Mazda5 minivan Touring adds 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, a rear spoiler, a leather steering wheel, a trip computer and Bluetooth-wrapped. For Touring, adds the optional Audio & Moonroof Package a sunroof, satellite radio and a six-CD changer. This package is based on the 5 Grand Touring, which also automatically receives xenon headlamps, heated mirrors, automatic wipers, driver’s lumbar adjustment, heated front seats and leather upholstery standard.

Every 2012 Mazda5 minivan is generated by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 157 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the sport, while a five-speed automatic transmission is optional on the Sport and standard on everything else. In performance tests was a 5 Grand Touring from zero to 60 mph in 9.5 seconds – slower than most typical minivans and many compact SUVs. Both transmission fuel economy at 21 mpg city/28 highway estimated.

If you have some additional benefits do not give up but do the agility and maneuverability of the urban car, the 2012 Mazda5 minivan is an excellent choice. Acceleration is a bit pokey (especially on hilly terrain), but the 5 handling is very good. On winding roads, the five rewards the driver with accurate steering and control body movements. Passengers ride with an enthusiastic drivers appreciate a retuned suspension that to stop them, and help push wavering in their seats.
