Any vehicle that rides/drives on any road in the USA needs to be registered and the operator (You) needs to have the proper operator license.

the answer is yes.all trikes(3 wheelers that are street legal)
are considered motorcycle and require a class M1 license
endorsement. been a licensed california motorcycle rider
since 1978.when i started riding it was called a class 4.
refer to the motorcycle handbook at the DMV office.
