Ducati used its own dialect of Bologna for Diavel word. And to be honest is a fiend indeed a formidable strike package with 162 horsepower beast of an L-twin. A few other bikes can rip the runway with minimal effort like this Once you have tested the carbon Diavel for a whole day, it is safe to say that this new Ducati is growing on me. Two days later, it seems that something else is growing – I suspect it’s horns on my head . Taking a place for the first time, Diavel feel comfortable and not as intimidating as unique and looks. The chair has high quality 80 mm and 60mm thick foam saddle.
There is almost nothing in front of me to intrude on my view of the road. It is similar to that department for Ducati Streetfighter, which also has ordered a pilot too.
Two mirrors mounted on aluminum rods aside my vision. They are as solid as the rest of the bike and not vibrate while in motion. The TFT (high-end LCD) display of information catches knight my eyes and you can switch between Sport, Touring, Urban and ways of walking with the flasher cancel button. The menu for setting a number of other information is also on the TFT screen.
Sport mode, which was my preferred way of walking throughout the day, gave me the full-on power supply, which in the case of Diavel means 162 horsepower and traction control set level 1. The power delivery is direct and responsive at all rpm, and how to leave the traction control allows some wheel spin before cutting inside
To make configuration easier to go, so suits most Touring situations perfectly. I swapped over the mode dial to the Sport Touring every time we hit a traffic or highway, and chill out while riding the important midrange.
mode of Tourism also provides a total power of 162 on top, but softens things a bit more at lower engine speeds and traction control is set to level 3 as the standard for additional security.
through small villages and the town of Marbella, I changed the mode of Urban. This reduces the power to 100 horses a civilized level, and add 5 to the traction control. Suddenly lose 62 hp sounds weird but makes sense, along with the high level of intrusion traction control.
urban mode allows it to be a man at dawn crossing culvert slippery layers and diverting traffic from downtown on their way to work. urban mode also allows you to relax a little more to the point of greatest tension in his day.
changing modes of steering is easy and may be amended motion with a closed throttle. You can customize the way you walk, adding the level of traction control modes.
There are eight levels to choose from, and after a while you will find that fits the specific mode of riding better. I think the default setting is very good.
The brakes are very impressive in Diavel Brembo monoblock found in top sports bikes like the Ducati Superbike 1198 SP. Riding the Carbon Diavel was the first time I’ve used the Brembo monoblock with ABS and I am very impressed. Let’s not forget that the carbon Diavel is a pure road bike, with a relatively long wheelbase, so I was curious about how ABS and Brembo monoblock would work together on the road.
2011 Ducati Carbon Diavel Test Ride
Before proceeding, I bring the excellent super-sticky sportbike tire compounds Pirelli Diablo Rosso II in the equation. Without these tires I do not think the package would work as well as he did.
Pirelli has worked to develop a Ducati rear tire very special for 240/45-ZR17 Diavel. The profile of that rear tire is 45 percent of the width, giving it a whirl steeper and steeper rate than that of a tire size of 240/40. This helps in turn Diavel how quickly and accurately.
Compared with a standard, like the Ducati Monster, Diavel is raked and stretched out a little, but not so much that the treatment affects them negatively. The Diavel is brilliantly for what it is, but it will never be as agile as a monster.
Racing up the mountain roads I’m surprised at how well the Diavel covers the corners, and tilt angle is very acceptable in one degree or less than a monster. This meant that I could ride the Carbon Diavel very aggressive, with entrances and exits as hot corner too hot.
You can not carry as much speed as a mid-sport bike, but you can exit the corners the same way. The Diavel presents a very powerful 162 hp version of the Testastretta engine and gained 12 horses on the Multistrada 1200 through a huge exhaust system.
The new exhaust system is actually one of my favorite things at Diavel, and proudly displays its strength on the right that ends in a silent stacked.
According to the engineers at Ducati, the Diavel sounds like the old Troy Bayliss Superbike Termignoni with mounted. I believe them, because Diavel Ducati is one of the best sound pattern. The rich burble of the engine-cylinder 1,198 cc liquid-cooled is large, and there’s a nice burble when releasing the accelerator before a turn or before a traffic light.
Another unique feature is the side mounted radiators Diavel – a first for Ducati. The great works airbox air intake aluminum on the sides, giving the Diavel a slimmer profile than would otherwise be the case.
Carbon Ducati Diavel is really a beast of a midrange motor from 4000 rpm acceleration is pure and rich mate. Around 7000 rpm, enormous power begins to help him, and on top of the power range acceleration is inspiring.
I’m not sure if I have to say this, but the Ducati Diavel is not cruises.
