Is a Harley Sportster the same as a softail? I bought a hat for my oil tank and she said that she was with Softail models. I assumed that my sportster a Softtail, because it has the rear shock but now in doubt. Can anyone help me figure this out asap, so I can stop the order if I have before they ship it out? No, it is not. Depends what year your bike looks. They have not made hard tail (rigid frame) for years. Most likely, especially if you spring legs, then have its a softail. Even an older sportster not have a 1200 cc engine, if you do not feel its a newer version as well.
