Motorcycle insurance quote – Progressive?
I only need insurance on my bike for like a week and progressive only gives me the option to either pay the full 12 month cost ($ 255) up front now OR 2 payments a year which is $ 135 up front right now. Im not paying $ 135 when im only going to be riding it for a week…?
Should i tell them that im only going to have insurance on it for a week? And will they refund all my money back?

Who rides a bike for a week. No, pay it for a year. You will probably find yourself riding the bike after a week has gone by. If you only need it for a week see if a friend will let you ride theirs for a small fee.

There are insurance companies that offer insurance on a temporary basis: for a week or ten days, or for a set amount of time. I think I heard of a guy that went on vacation and bought 12 days worth of insurance on a friend’s bike. BUT -and this a big but (no pun), the downside is that this type of insurance is that it can be prohibitively expensive….. Another option is finding a place that does sell insurance on a 30 day basis and just let it run out…. Progressive is probably the WORST at being flexible. (it wasn’t that way when they first started)

The key here is to be up front about what exactly you need/want… insurance company’s don’t take kindly to going through the whole process of taking on a new customer and then having the policy canceled a few days later. They do incur costs that would be taken out of any refund due.

I would not be willing to pay up front then cancel and hope to pry my money from an insurance company’s fingers…. No insurance company is going to give back money…. without a fight.
