yamaha r1 motorcycle oil temperture light keeps coming stays on sometimes, but goes off stays on more?sometomes comes on around 174 degrees, then goes off latey it stays on more once it comes on
ive been in the manual it it says the indicator is for the oil temperature. the manual says coming on from time to time is normal, but now its getting regular. though i would check here before contacting the dealer.

check your oil level, you might need to add some. On my 2000 R6 the red light that comes on idicates a few things, oil level, oil temp and engine temp

read your manual it’s not a temp. light

Its not a temp. light, I had a 99 and it would do it occasionally, yamaha made them too sensitive and it pops on occasionally.
